Bouquet Preservation

Pressing and framing wedding flowers is a wonderful way to preserve them. Every time you see your bespoke artwork you’ll be reminded of your special day.
I offer my wedding flower preservation service to those getting married within the southwest Ohio/TriState area since your flowers need to be as fresh as possible. It’s important to place them in water immediately after your celebration. Please transport your flowers to me the day or two after your wedding. I am located in the Dayton, Ohio metro area.
Some flowers press better than others, so bear this in mind when getting in touch. For example, flowers with multiple layers of petals (such as a rose or dahlia) do not tend to press as well as flowers with more simple forms. There are things that can be done, such as preserving individual petals or drying the flowers, so please be aware I may need to be creative to preserve these types of flowers.
I will work with you to decide on the composition of your artwork. I mock up a design and send it to you for review. After I receive your confirmation, I will glue the flowers into place.
I offer 11x14 and 16x20 sizes and a few frame options. Prices vary depending on the style, size and number of pieces you would like. A $100 deposit payment will be required to secure your slot. The remaining balance will need to be paid when an invoice is sent or when your artwork is collected. It usually takes around two months from the date of your wedding to press and complete your wedding flower artwork.
Sustainability is a key part of my work, so I never use dyes, preservatives, or sealants. As the flowers are natural, they will fade and change color over time. To preserve the colors for as long as possible, do not display your artwork in direct sunlight or in rooms that have high humidity levels.
I also offer flower drying services. I naturally air-dry your flowers and create a shadow box or dried bouquet for you. This is a nice option if you have full flowers in your arrangement since they dry beautifully. This service starts from $100.
Terms and Conditions
Please read through the following information before booking. By submitting a deposit, dropping off your flowers to me, you agree to the the terms and conditions. Terms and conditions are subject to change. Access to the terms are linked on the bottom of all Pollinators-and-Posies.com pages.
Preservation Process
The preservation and framing process will take a minimum of 2 months from delivery of the fresh flowers to receipt of your finished product. Completion of your flowers may take longer depending on seasonal demand. I won't sacrifice the quality of your arrangement for time to ensure you have a piece that your treasure.
In order for flowers to be in best working condition, they need to be delivered within 3 days of your event. Flowers will be worked with in the condition that they are received. The sooner and fresher the flowers are when received, the better the flowers will be able to be preserved. Dead, dried, or browning flowers cannot be pressed. Inquiries more than 3 days after an event will need to provide a picture of the flowers for evaluation and consideration. Wedding bouquet drop-off must be scheduled before the wedding if preservation was booked ahead of the wedding.
Many flowers will change colors naturally in the drying process. Color change is unpredictable given the organic nature of flowers. Browning may occur. I do not use dyes to adjust or alter the color. For example, some pinks tend to turn purple; reds tend to darken to a burgundy. Colors cannot be guaranteed to be the same as they were when they were fresh.
Over time, your flowers will fade and change. This is natural, as they are organic material. For the longevity of your arrangement, keep out of sunlight and humid or temperature-fluctuating locations. With proper care, your flowers will remain beautiful at all stages of their lifecycle.
The best flowers will be used for your arrangement. Due to the time invested and the inability to guarantee results of all leaves and flowers, you will not receive back any unused pieces.
You will receive an image of your arrangement for approval before it is glued in place. If you would like your flowers rearranged, I am happy to do so. If I do not hear back from you in 5 days, I will proceed with gluing the latest arrangement and send out your invoice. Please note that the arrangement may change slightly during the gluing process. Final arrangements will be scanned into my portfolio and may be used for display or marketing purposes. The likeness of an arrangement may be recreated.
Framing
Your flowers will be arranged and glued on white watercolor paper and framed in an off-the-shelf wood frame. Your flowers are not permanently sealed within your frame, so you do have the ability to reframe your arrangement in the future.
Flowers vary in thickness. Not all flowers can be pressed to a thin enough level for framing, but I do take all measures possible to accommodate all of your special flowers.
Payment
I accept payment via cash, check, and credit card. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to book your arrangement. If you are booking in advance for a wedding and your event date changes, your deposit can be transferred to a different date, schedule availability permitting. In the event of a cancellation, your deposit will not be refunded. Remaining payment is due 14 days after your invoice has been emailed or at pickup, whichever comes first. Late fees may apply.
Due to the custom nature of this product, returns and refunds are not accepted. Arrangements not paid for or picked up three months after completion will become property of Pollinators and Posies.
